Following their remix of Ludwig Coenen for TLM022 and a string of celebrated releases for Nachtstrom Schallplatten and Perc Trax, Toronto’s Frederik Hatsav and Jamie Kidd rejoin the Thoughtless fold under their Metalogic guise. Enlisting New York techno veteran Dietrich Schoenemann on the title track, the trio delivers a sleek combo of pure analog bass and metallic percussion, resulting in an unrelenting yet stripped-down futuristic club workout. Overseeing remix duties is techno legend Bryan Zentz. His  first of two solutions, the Empty Vessel Dub dives deep into late-night territory, employing the irresistible bass line of the original and embellishing it with sparse synth work and echoing atmospheres to stunning effect. As a digital bonus, Zentz offers up the Kenosis Shuffle Mix, providing added bounce with a boosted low-end while taking a house-leaning approach in the drum department and adding Detroit-style stabs for good measure. On the flip, Dark Shines is a heady ride, intoxicant atmospheres and dynamic yet subtle arrangements solving as a mystical techno prime. Finally, digital bonus tracks Volatiles and Radiative probe the eerie, minimalistic side of the Metalogic equation. Whether exploring the outer reaches of modern techno or twisting up their uniquely abstract take on tech-house, the result is pure quality…
