April 5: Thoughtless 5 Year @ Farbfernseher Berlin
Five years of Thoughtlessness calls for a proper party – and we couldn’t be happier to celebrate at one of our favorite intimate night spots in Berlin with three DJs that exemplify the scope and history of the label. Derek Marin, a prolific producer who recently relocated from NYC, dropped our very first release and multiple subsequent Thoughtless singles and remixes; the world-renowned Falko Brocksieper remixed both TLM005 and TLM075; and of course, label boss Noah Pred has been with us since the start and represents the label every time he plays. So join us at Farbfernseher this Friday, 5 April for our first full-fledged label night in Berlin – it’s time to get thoughtless…!!

We’ve had a beautiful run at Li’ly, but as winter melts into spring, so too must we emerge from the depths. For our final party at Li’ly, Thoughtless chief Noah Pred returns to perform his newly retooled live set featuring material from recent EPs on Cynosure, Highgrade and Thoughtless, along with forthcoming tracks due out soon on Trapez LTD and Affin – delivered in typically dynamic fashion using the latest technology available. Resident Zaid Edghaim is on hand to open the night with his uniquely deep stylings, while newcomer Brian Johnson shows off his skills on the decks in advance of his Thoughtless EP due out this summer. With recent releases on Turbo gaining traction worldwide, Gingy & Bordello follow up their remix of Deepchild for the label with a late-night DJ set to keep the floor in action. Boasting a locals-only line-up featuring some of Toronto’s hottest underground talent, Thoughtless will be celebrating one of our favorite days of the year with three up and coming artists from the roster. Resident Zaid Edghaim comes correct with an extended set following his latest remix of Daniel Ray alongside heavyweights Pheek and Derek Marin for TLM061, while Hushlamb namesake Alicia Hush is lined up to deliver one of her typically enchanting sets after remixing openers Santini & Tellez on their debut Thoughtless EP, Lost Thoughts. We might be underground, but with fresh talent like this, the sky’s the limit…

March 16: Thoughtless Invasion
Laying claim to both floors at Li’ly, March 16 marks the return of two much-loved Canadian underground heroes. Hot off his single for Highgrade Records, Thoughtless visionary Noah Pred returns to Toronto to celebrate his birthday with his first North American performance since relocating to Berlin. With his busiest release schedule to date lined up this spring, he’s joined by old friend and fellow ex-pat The Mole, back on tour in Canada supporting recent hits on New Kanada and his album with Cobblestone Jazz as the Modern Deep Left Quartet. Renowned for his classic selections and deft mixing, The Mole is not to be missed as he performs an extended set on the decks. We’re delighted to announce the addition of hometown hero and Juno nominee Arthur Oskan to the line-up – performing his only live set in Toronto before the Juno ceremony takes place at the end of the month. Local sensation Co-Op is also slated for a fresh live set debuting new material from their forthcoming Thoughtless EP due out this spring, while DJ support comes from Santini & Tellez, new label artist Ryan Dennis and Phantom Ambulance member Max the Fax. January 20: Downer’s Farewell
For our first event of 2012, we bid farewell to a legend of the Toronto underground: Thoughtless producer, remixer and DJ Eric Downer. From his early days at the influential Transcendence parties through his high impact residency for Fukhouse at Industry and System Soundbar, Eric has always pushed the envelope of creativity and performance in our local techno scene. His exuberant, contagious energy, deep musical knowledge and forward-thinking programming have inspired many over the years, and as he takes his talents to Sydney, Australia, his unique sets will surely be missed here at home. Supported with a rare live set from Repair member, Obsolete Components co-founder and Archipel artist Mark Thibideau and resident Zaid Edghaim on the decks, don’t miss this last opportunity to catch an extended set from Eric Downer before he heads down under…
