January 20: Downer’s Farewell
For our first event of 2012, we bid farewell to a legend of the Toronto underground: Thoughtless producer, remixer and DJ Eric Downer. From his early days at the influential Transcendence parties through his high impact residency for Fukhouse at Industry and System Soundbar, Eric has always pushed the envelope of creativity and performance in our local techno scene. His exuberant, contagious energy, deep musical knowledge and forward-thinking programming have inspired many over the years, and as he takes his talents to Sydney, Australia, his unique sets will surely be missed here at home. Supported with a rare live set from Repair member, Obsolete Components co-founder and Archipel artist Mark Thibideau and resident Zaid Edghaim on the decks, don’t miss this last opportunity to catch an extended set from Eric Downer before he heads down under…

November 18: Escape from Babylon

Join us in the ultimate send-off party for two of Toronto’s top Thoughtless talents: Noah Pred and XI. Taking the leap to Berlin this fall, both artists have made innumerable contributions to the Toronto music scene through their acclaimed studio productions, renowned DJ sets, crazy parties, and of course, hard work for the Thoughtless label. Noah will be gracing us with a rare live set of all-original techno and house – his final live set as a Torontonian – while XI will be dropping his trademark future-forward beats with a late-night farewell set. September 23: California Dreamin’…
Thoughtless continues our new night with the return of one of North America’s most talented artists: [a]pendics.shuffle. Whether releasing immaculately crafted deep house as Kenneth James Gibson on Culprit, collaborating with Dilo as Cascabel Gentz, fronting his 9-piece post-modern rock band Bell Gardens, or tirelessly cranking out quality releases on his own Adjunct label – not to mention his Dubloner, Eight Frozen Modules or Reverse Commuter side-projects – the man maintains a level of creative output few could hope to match. Following up his remix for our third ever release, Evan Marc’s Iris, we’re delighted to have him performing live at Li’ly.
Joining us for a special late-night set is Montreal’s Musique Risquée founder, Vincent Lemieux. Known for his deep musical knowledge and exuberant sets of deep house and techno, he rides a wave of highly buzzed-about performances at this year’s MUTEK and the Old Miami in Detroit. Rounding out the night, local artist Arthur Oskan is on board for one of his impeccable live sets, while Thoughtless resident Zaid Edghaim is poised to get the party started proper. Thoughtless Music and Platform join forces for our first-ever late night NXNE showcase with the Toronto debut of Alland Byallo. Making waves with recent releases and remixes for highly regarded imprints such as Poker Flat, Liebe*Detail and Moodmusic, the San Francisco ex-pat now based in Berlin is perhaps best known for his integral role in the S.F. club nights known simply as [KONTROL]. A Bay Area techno institution, the residency saw Alland perform alongside the world’s hottest techno and house artists all while running his own label, Nightlight. Having remixed for Thoughtless in the past, we’re pleased to present this rising talent on his latest North American tour.
Speaking of rising talents, local artists Co-Op (a.k.a. Oreste Camarra and Karim Sultan) will perform their acclaimed dynamic live set in the Underground. Following the success of their ‘Peace by Piece’ EP for Thoughtless last fall and a steady string of solid local shows featuring the live keyboard and guitar stylings of Sultan as Camarra works the boards, Co-Op have established themselves as one of the hottest local electronic acts as they continue to leave audiences craving more while they craft their debut full-length for Thoughtless.
Following the success of his monumental ERA ONE mix CD as the fiftieth release on the label, Thoughtless boss Noah Pred will open the late night affair at midnight with one of his typically fluid DJ sets of modern deep techno and house. With a 4am license to keep the libations flowing, our first NXNE showcase provides a unique opportunity to Get Thoughtless well past your bed time. Join us!

One of Toronto’s most respected underground producers and live acts, Arthur Oskan’s deep and lush yet essential techno sound is a direct evolution of his love for Detroit and many cold winters spent locked in his studio. Performing live with analog gear for over a decade, his exhilarating sets are a revelatory fusion of sizzling machine grooves and evocative synthetic melodies. Totalling ten tracks, Oskan’s debut full-length, A Little More Than Everything, is a distinctive distillation of his uniquely refined take on soulful analog techno – and we’re proud to celebrate it’s release on Thoughtless with a special live set from Arthur himself at the Drake Underground. Also performing is Chicago-based artist Kate Simko, presenting her debut live set in Toronto. Renowned for her sumptuous take on minimal techno and house, her DJ sets have taken her throughout Europe and the Americas – with releases on Spectral, Ghostly, and Eklo cementing her status on the global scene. Her remix of Evan Marc for Thoughtless is one our best-selling titles to date, and her new album for Berlin’s Hello? Repeat imprint, Lights Out, is the cause for her latest tour – which she’ll be bringing to the Underground along with a full A/V performance sure to make this a memorable night. Up-and-coming Thoughtless DJ and remixer Zaid Edghaim will be opening the night with his well-honed minimal house sound, while label boss Noah Pred closes out the affair with his latest favourites on the decks…
